Euan Uglow is sadly not a household name. He is now gaining some acclaim for his landscapes, still lifes, and figure work. I have only recently discovered this late British artist works but they have captivated me. I find his work subtle, complex, and evocotive.
He is one of my favourite painters ever. He is one of those artists who simply 'has it' and his painting of a pear or watermelon show so much more than many other painters could hope to achieve. For all his mathematical precision in his painting and process, he still retains magic.
